What is a Physiatrist?

A physiatrist is a physician who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation and treats injuries or illnesses that affect how you move and your quality of life. Physiatrists treat disorders and injuries of the neck, back, muscles, and joints in a minimally invasive manner. Physiatrists use techniques that include injections to the muscles, joints and nerves. Interventional physiatrists also provide services for spine injections and have experience in medical acupuncture.
