Centegra Health System is dedicated to the health of women throughout McHenry County. Located throughout McHenry County the obstetricians on the medical staff at Centegra specialize in:

Centegra Physician Care obstetricians deliver at the Family Birth Centers located at Centegra Hospital-McHenry and Centegra Hospital-Huntley.

Pregnancy, Labor and Delivery

The obstetricians on staff at Centegra are trained in the management of routine and complicated pregnancies, from conception to delivery. At the Centegra Family Birth Center in McHenry and Huntley, these physicians will assist you through labor and delivery, and the highly experienced team will help with a Cesarean delivery if that is the safest option for you and your baby. There are obstetrics (OB) hospitalists available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure women have immediate access to a physician’s care in the event of an emergency or unforeseen event. Centegra also offers an Obstetrics Emergency Department so women can receive assessment from emergency department physicians and OB hospitalists without having to be admitted to the Family Birth Center. Birth Control

The obstetricians and gynecologists on the medical staff at Centegra are able to advise you about all forms of birth control and offer you a variety of options, including:

  • Cyclic hormones, including pills, patches and rings
  • Methods that reduce or eliminate menstrual cycles, including the above, as well as shots, implants under the skin, and IUDs (placed in the uterus)
  • Essure permanent birth control (requires no surgery)
  • Female sterilization
  • Guidance about male sterilization

Gynecologic Disorders

The gynecologists on staff at Centegra welcome questions regarding difficult to discuss issues, such as sexual function, fertility or incontinence (loss of control of the bladder). They also can manage, monitor and treat:

  • Fertility issues
  • Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)
  • Problematic menstrual bleeding
  • Uterine fibroids
  • Sexual infections and sexually transmitted diseases
  • Abnormal Pap smears
  • Pelvic pain or pain in the abdomen
  • Endometriosis
