NCDR ACTION Registry-GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award – Centegra Hospital-McHenry is one of over 300 hospitals nationwide to receive the GWTG Platinum Performance Achievement Award for 2015 from the American College of Cardiology Foundation’s NCDR ACTION Registry. To achieve this award our cardiovascular services team met rigorous criteria that are based on nationally recognized medical standards. Centegra Hospital-McHenry achieved a performance measure score of 90 percent or greater for either ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) or non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) records. This award signifies our team of healthcare professionals has reached an aggressive goal of treating these patients at high levels of care as outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association clinical guidelines and recommendations.
Sociey of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) Three-Star Rating
Centegra Hospital-McHenry has received the highest three-star rating for coronary artery bypass surgery quality from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). Approximately 12-15 percent of hospitals nationwide receive the three-star rating, which denotes the highest category of quality. The STS three-star rating system is the gold standard for cardiac surgery quality ratings and is highly regarded as the best way to compare cardiac surgery programs. The system is based on cardiac teams’ performance in terms of survival rates, the absence of complications and other key measures. By receiving three stars, our cardiac surgery program has been placed among the best programs in the nation.
