Get Your Independence Back
If you are concerned about long-term side effects from your acid reflux medication, a new procedure at Centegra Health System may help. Amir Heydari, MD now performs a minimally invasive procedure to provide relief from acid reflux, heartburn, GERD and bloating.
Solve Acid Reflux For Good
Acid reflux occurs when a weak muscle called the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) allows acid and bile to flow back from the stomach into the esophagus. This creates pain and can cause damage to the lining of the esophagus.
LINX® is a flexible ring of small magnets placed around the LES during a minimally invasive procedure. The strength of the magnets helps keep the weak LES closed to prevent acid reflux.
When you swallow, LINX® opens temporarily to allow food and liquid to pass into the stomach.
Tiny Device, Big Results
The LINX® device is about the size of a quarter and fits around your esophagus. Once secure it prevents stomach acid from entering the esophagus. Patients usually experience immediate relief from heartburn, bloating and regurgitation.
The LINX® Advantage
- Minimally invasive
- Short outpatient procedure
- No alteration to the stomach
- Resume normal activities in days
- No special diet
