Michael S. Eesley is President of the Northwest Region of Northwestern Medicine since the merger with Centegra Health System in September 2018. Prior to that, Mr. Eesley was Chief Executive Officer of Centegra Health System, the largest healthcare provider and employer in McHenry County, Illinois.
Mr. Eesley joined Centegra Health System in 1999 and fulfilled the role of Chief Operating Officer until his appointment to CEO in 2002. Mr. Eesley’s leadership and strategic vision have helped guide Centegra in meeting the healthcare needs of the growing communities in the Greater McHenry County area.
Prior to joining Centegra, Mr. Eesley was at University Hospital/SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York. His health care leadership experience has spanned across several hospitals located in metropolitan Detroit, including the Garden City Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health System, and Children’s Hospital of Michigan (Detroit Medical Center).
Mr. Eesley is a board member of the Northwestern Medicine Northwest Region. He was a past member of the Centegra Health System Board, Centegra Health and Wellness Board and the Chairman of Centegra Insurance Company, past Chairman of the Illinois Health and Hospital Association, past chairman of the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council Board, past board member of the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board and the Past Chairman/Founder of Leadership Greater McHenry County. He also is an advisor to the Family Health Partnership Clinic in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
Mr. Eesley earned his bachelor’s degree at Ferris State University, which honored him as Distinguished Alumnus of the Year in 1988. He received his MBA from the University of Detroit.
