Important health care reform websites and phone numbers

Through the Affordable Care Act (also known as health care reform) beginning Oct. 1, consumers are able to begin shopping and enrolling on the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace, Get Covered Illinois. The website address now activated is www.GetCoveredIllinois.gov. The state has also launched a Get Covered Illinois Help Desk with a toll-free number, 1-866-311-1119, to be staffed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Also, a new online Medicaid enrollment platform has been launched at www.ABE.illinois.gov.

In addition, the McHenry County Department of Health website is www.MCDH.info and phone number 1-815-334-4510.

In addition to the state and local website and toll-free number, a federal website and number are available; www.Healthcare.gov has a live chat feature. The 24-hour number is 1-800-318-2596 and offers more than 150 languages.
