Find Relief from Joint Pain
If knee pain and hip joint pain are keeping you from the life you love, joint replacement could be the answer. The nationally recognized joint replacement program at Centegra’s hospitals in McHenry and Woodstock achieves exceptional outcomes and provides ongoing support for patients before, during, and after joint replacement surgery.
The joint replacement program in McHenry County offers the following advantages:
The Anterior Approach to Total Hip Replacement
In addition to conventional total hip replacement surgeries, Centegra offers the anterior approach to total hip replacement. In this minimally invasive procedure, the orthopedic surgeon makes a small incision in the front (anterior) of the hip in order to reach the hipbone through the natural gap between the muscles without having to detach and reattach other leg muscles. Benefits of the anterior approach include:
- A smaller incision
- Faster recovery time
- Reduced risk of dislocation
Total Knee Replacement
When your knee pain has become too great to tolerate, knee replacement surgery at Centegra may be the next step. Centegra performs hundreds of knee replacement surgeries each year and achieves outcomes that exceed national standards.
If you have exhausted conservative treatment options such as medications, injections, and restricted activity and cannot find relief from knee pain, turn to the experts at Centegra.

Finger Joint Replacement
Arthritis of the hands and fingers can make your favorite activities painful or even impossible. Centegra is the first health system in McHenry County to offer finger joint replacement, a revolutionary surgery that aids patients suffering from painful arthritis or finger joint injuries.
During the procedure, the joint is replaced with a new device made of plastic and titanium. After surgery, patients immediately begin physical therapy to improve their range of motion, with strengthening exercises beginning after about four weeks of healing.
