Oral, Head and Neck Cancers
If you are experiencing a hoarse voice, trouble swallowing, a stubborn cough, or if you have noticed a lump on your neck, you could be exhibiting the early symptoms of thyroid cancer. Thyroid cancer is one common head and neck cancer that Centegra Sage Cancer Center treats, as well as:
- Mouth cancer
- Larynx cancer
- Pharynx cancer
- Other tumors affecting the head and neck
Centegra Sage Cancer Center in McHenry offers free oral, head, and neck cancer screenings at various times throughout the year. During this screening, an otolaryngologist and oral and maxillofacial surgeon provide a thorough exam of your mouth, oral cavity, head and neck area to detect any precancerous changes.
This screening does not take the place of an annual exam by your personal physician. Registration is required. Call 877-CENTEGRA (236-8347) to learn more and register for an upcoming screening.
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, affecting more than two million Americans each year. The good news: it is the easiest to cure if diagnosed and treated early.
Centegra Health System offers several free skin cancer screening opportunities for community members. A board-certified dermatologist or a certified physician assistant will provide a thorough examination of your skin to detect any precancerous changes.
This screening does not take place of an annual exam by your dermatologist and is not recommended for people who have had skin cancer. Registration is required. Call 877-CENTEGRA (236-8347) to learn more and register for an upcoming screening.
Beginning at age 16, a testicular self-exam is recommended monthly for males. A clinical exam should be part of your annual physical. Talk to your doctor about Centegra Sage Cancer Center’s treatments for testicular cancer.
