Flight For Life
Centegra is one of only seven hospital systems in Illinois that has an on-site air medical transport helicopter service. Flight For Life-Northern Illinois is a nonprofit emergency helicopter program that started at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center in 1987 as part of the Emergency Medical Services System. Flight for Life serves residents of McHenry, Lake, and DuPage counties, as well as southeast Wisconsin.
Flight For Life provides transport from one hospital to another and from an accident scene to the nearest appropriate Level I trauma center or other specialty center. This means you receive the level of care you need as quickly as possible.

Emergency Department Pharmacists
Centegra Health System has expanded and improved patient care by adding Emergency Department pharmacists. These pharmacists work as full-time consultants to the emergency medicine doctors on the critical care team.
Centegra’s Emergency Department pharmacists are present in the emergency room so you receive the medications you need exactly when you need them. This timely delivery of sometimes life-saving medication improves patient care, reduces costs, and reduces medication errors. The Emergency Department pharmacists can also save you money by avoiding wasted medication, suggesting less-expensive drugs, or pointing out less expensive ways to provide medication.
