News: Visitor restrictions include those under 18 years of age

Due to increased “influenza like illness” in our community, Centegra has instituted temporary visitor restrictions, because we care about the safety of our patients, families and staff.

One of the restrictions is:

  • Visitors 18 years of age or older will be permitted to visit in patient care areas.

Limiting children less than 18 years old prevents exposure to the children. Children will not be allowed on the nursing units or in the unit waiting rooms. If at all possible, we ask that children be kept at home, and not be brought to the hospital. If it is necessary, the cafeteria will be available during regular cafeteria hours for children, provided they have adult supervision.

These restrictions are being imposed to protect the health of our patients and to minimize the spread of influenza throughout the community.

Exemptions from this may be discussed with the a nurse supervisor or manager. Thank you for your cooperation.
