Spider Bite Patient One of First to be Treated at Immediate Care

Melissa Holbrook, Marengo, enjoyed a nice summer afternoon of gardening one day and the next day found disturbing symptoms of a spider bite. While working in Crystal Lake and her symptoms worsening, Holbrook decided to visit the new Centegra Immediate Care center located inside the Crystal Lake Medical Arts Building.

“It was convenient, quick and the staff was very effective in diagnosing and treating my spider bite,” Holbrook said. “I would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area who needs quality immediate care.”

She added that the friendliness of the staff was fantastic.

“The nurse actually stayed with me and made sure I was comfortable and didn’t have any questions. She also called me the next day to follow up and make sure I was feeling better. I got another follow up call the day after. I’ve never gotten follow up calls like this before. It was really nice, because I felt like they really cared,” Holbrook said.

Holbrook revisited the CLMA building Tuesday, June 24 to help introduce it and its many services to the business community of greater McHenry County. The joint chamber mixer was hosted by Centegra Health System and Crystal Lake Medical Arts, LLC. The building is located at 360 Station Drive, Crystal Lake, behind Dominick’s Finer Foods. The mixer was sponsored by the Crystal Lake and Cary/Fox River Grove Chambers of Commerce.

The Summer Stars Celebration to honor the opening of the Crystal Lake Medical Arts facility featured a black and white theme and prizes for the best black and/or white business attire. Elegant refreshments, champagne, music, tours of the building, and more were provided.

Jason Sciarro, Centegra Health System Chief Operating Officer, said, “Centegra’s board is made up of the people who live here too, and they understand and are committed to high quality patient-centered care for our community. This commitment led us into a study of how best to serve the changing and growing Greater McHenry County population.”

Michael S. Eesley, Centegra President and CEO, said “Our goal is always to provide solutions and solutions that let us be effective, efficient and comprehensive. An example of this is located on the third floor here the Centegra Immediate Care, where you receive the same high-quality care you expect from Centegra without an appointment. Other key components are advanced medical imaging services, phlebotomy services and Centegra Primary Care along with Occupational Health and specialty physician offices.
