Dr. John V. Prunskis was named one of the Best Pain Management Physicians in America after undergoing substantial review by the editorial staff of Becker’s Review. The listing appears in the March 21 issue.Prunskis is with the Illinois Pain Institute in Elgin and is an independent physician on the medical staff at Centegra Health System.

He is a board certified interventional pain physician. He also has achieved the highest level in the field of pain medicine, Fellow in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP).
Considered an expert in his field, Prunskis has served as secretary of the Illinois Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and has been voted among the top five specialists at Centegra Hospital-McHenry. Prunskis was appointed to the Illinois State Medical Society Council on Health Care Economics, has been president of the McHenry County Medical Society, is a past member of the Illinois State Medical Society Governmental Affairs Council, is an exam writer for The American Board of Anesthesiology in Pain Management and has been listed in “Two Thousand Notable American Men” published by the American Biographical Institute. He is a current certification examiner for Interventional Pain Management.Prunskis has been co-medical director of Illinois Pain Institute since 1993.
