Centegra Health System and a group called Guardians of the Ribbon joined forces to bring pink fire trucks to McHenry County Tuesday, Aug. 31 to support women in their fight against cancer and inspire men to get involved.
In one of only four stops in Illinois this year, these unique fire trucks were at Centegra Hospital-McHenry from 10 am to 2 pm and Centegra Hospital-Woodstock from 3 to 5 pm.
The Guardians of the Ribbon is an organization that drives PINK Fire Trucks across the United States to support women in their fight against cancer and inspire men to get involved. It was started in Phoenix, Arizona by firefighter Dave Graybill. The group is making its way across the country and it is their mission to also spread the word worldwide.
During their visit to McHenry County, all Associates were encouraged to wear pink to show support for those battling cancer. Anyone who has been impacted by cancer was welcome to sign the trucks as they make their way across the country.
