Centegra Health System extends its continuum of care by launching a new support group for people with sleep apnea, their family members and friends. The group will be part of the American Sleep Apnea Association’s AWAKE network. AWAKE stands for Alert, Well and Keeping Energetic.
The support group will provide education and idea sharing for people who are affected by sleep-disordered breathing. The group will meet on a quarterly basis at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock.The first session, focusing on Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines and maintenance, will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7. Becky Ballou will be the guest speaker. The second session, focusing on obstructive sleep apnea, will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7 with Medical Director of Pulmonary and Sleep Services at Centegra Health System, Dr. Firas Dairi as the guest speaker. Both sessions will be conducted at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock.
