New mobile van will help bring healthcare to the community

The Auxiliary to Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center’ president Dale Cunat presented a check in the amount of $220,000 to Centegra Health System to help fund its newest wellness program, Centegra Wellness on the Move, at the Auxiliary’s Annual Meeting on Friday, February 15 at the McHenry Country Club.

Centegra Wellness on the Move is a mobile health unit that will be used to provide wellness screenings, education and health-related services to the residents of the Greater McHenry County community at a variety of locations including corporate workplaces, schools, health fairs, senior communities and areas where the population is underserved. The mobile unit will have two examining rooms and capabilities for x-rays ultrasound, EKG, audiology screenings, blood draws and patient education. Through its continuing fund-raising activities the Auxiliary, now in its fifty-third year, will contribute an additional $80,000 next year to complete a commitment of $300,000 for this innovative project.

The Auxiliary to Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center is comprised of 275 volunteers from the Greater McHenry County community and through a 16-member Board of Directors sponsors many fundraising events to raise money in support of the healthcare efforts of Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center.
