Centegra Primary Care welcomes chiropractors

HUNTLEY  – Centegra Health System welcomes chiropractors Dr. Randy David and Dr. Mark Dowell to Centegra Primary Care. The addition of chiropractic care enhances Centegra’s high-quality orthopaedic and rehabilitative services by offering patients another way to treat pain and improve wellness. David will practice at Centegra Primary Care-Huntley and Dowell will practice at Centegra Primary Care-Woodstock.

“We are proud to welcome Dr. David and Dr. Dowell to our staff,” said Jason Sciarro, preident and chief operating officer with Centegra Health System. “By adding chiropractic care to our services, we are providing the people of greater McHenry County new ways to get well and stay well.”

David Shinherr, executive director of orthopaedic and rehabilitative services with Centegra Health System, said Centegra Primary Care’s chiropractors will treat patients who suffer from back pain, neck pain, pain in the arms and legs and headaches.

“Chiropractors are extensively trained to diagnose and treat conditions of the musculoskeletal system that are mechanical or functional in origin” Shinherr said. “They use a holistic and evidence-based approach while educating their patients about exercise, nutrition and lifestyle choices.”

Shinherr said chiropractic care fits well into the continuum of orthopaedic and rehabilitative medicine services at Centegra Health System.

“Chiropractic care is often the primary method of treatment and it can also complement treatments that are prescribed or implemented by primary care physicians, orthopaedic surgeons and physical therapists,” Shinherr said. “Chiropractors co-manage a patient’s care with physicians and physical therapists and refer patients to other healthcare providers when a different clinical approach is needed. Because Dr. David and Dr. Dowell are part of a specialty network of physicians, their patients will be able to seamlessly receive the multidisciplinary care approach they deserve.”
