McHENRY – Children lost during the period around childbirth will be memorialized during Centegra Health System’s annual candlelight service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1 at the Church of the Holy Apostles, 5211 Bull Valley Road, McHenry.
Table space will be available for those who would like to share memories of their child. A child’s name may also be printed in a memorial bulletin for the service. Email the parents’ names and the name of the child as you would like it to appear, to firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Centegra Perinatal Grief Support Line at 815-759-4348. Those with a memorial video or still-photo memorial DVD are also encouraged to call the Centegra Perinatal Grief Support Line to arrange for necessary equipment.
Light refreshments and a reception will follow the service.
The Perinatal Bereavement Team at Centegra provides care and support for parents and families facing the heartbreaking loss of a child during pregnancy or shortly after birth. Specially-trained and nationally-certified perinatal bereavement counselors are available to assist families at this most difficult time providing support, options and compassionate care. After discharge, the support remains available at no charge through individual and couples support and a Perinatal Grief Support Group.
