HUNTLEY – Centegra Health System will host several free health lectures during September. Community members are welcome to hear physicians speak about the latest developments and treatments in prostate health, warning signs and treatment of a stroke and common questions and concerns new parents face before and after birth.

Hear the latest information on prostate health from Dr. Jeffery Shafer, independent radiation oncologist on the medical staff at Centegra Health System. A prostate cancer survivor, Shafter will discuss the latest developments, treatments and importance of diet and lifestyle on maintaining and achieving prostate health. This free lecture called, “Achieving Prostate Health” will be conducted from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center – Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road.
In addition, Dr. Benjamin Nager, neurologists and independent physician on staff at Centegra Health System, will present, “Don’t Miss a Stroke: Symptoms and Treatment” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center – Crystal Lake, 200 Congress Parkway.

Centegra’s physician lecture, “Prenatal Care” will be conducted from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road. Dr. Carlos Mendez, OB/GYN on staff at Centegra Primary Care will discuss common questions and concerns new parents face before and after birth. Those who are pregnant or thinking about having a baby, are encouraged to attend this educational lecture.
