The Greater McHenry County community now has even more access to high-quality healthcare services and screenings thanks to Centegra Health System’s new Centegra Wellness on the Move mobile health unit. The 36-foot healthcare van was officially launched today at a health-screening event and dedication ceremony at the Crystal Lake Salvation Army in Crystal Lake.
Centegra Wellness on the Move is a mobile health van which will provide wellness screenings, education and health-related services to the residents of the Greater McHenry County community at a variety of locations including corporate workplaces, schools, health fairs, senior communities and areas where the population is underserved. The mobile unit has two examining rooms and capabilities for x-rays, ultrasound, EKG, audiology screenings, blood draws and patient education.
“I am personally very proud to be able to offer the valuable healthcare services that the Centegra Wellness on the Move mobile unit will provide to our friends and neighbors of Greater McHenry County,” Michael S. Eesley, Centegra President and CEO said. “The Centegra Wellness on the Move program truly aligns with Centegra’s mission to provide quality healthcare and will help ensure increase access to the care our entire community deserves,” he added.
As part of today’s dedication, free diabetes screenings and blood pressure tests were also offered to many area residents in need. These tests are just a sample of the health screening and health education offerings Centegra Wellness on the Move will be able to provide to the community. Centegra Wellness on the Move’s next stops will be at several community agencies such as the Salvation Army throughout the coming year to offer more free health screenings to those in need.
Also in honor of today’s dedication and Centegra’s continued commitment to community, Centegra Health System Associates personally collected hundreds of non-perishable food items to donate to area food pantries.
“The outpouring of donations from our Associates was tremendous. Their passion shows not only the dedication they feel to our patients and to Centegra but also to the communities in which we serve,” Mr. Eesley, said.
