Breast cancer survivors now have a new way to improve their health in an understanding environment at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Crystal Lake, 200 E. Congress Parkway. A free Yoga for Breast Cancer Survivors class will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays.
“This program will be taught by a certified yoga instructor who is also a breast cancer survivor and understands the emotional and physical barriers that participants may be experiencing,” said Lynn Griesmaier, breast health navigator at Centegra Health System. “Our goal is to give women the opportunity to gently exercise while gaining the benefits of stretching according to their personal comfort levels. The class will also help women connect with other breast cancer survivors.”
There is no preregistration required for the Yoga for Breast Cancer Survivors class. Participants should sign in at the front desk. The class is open on a first-come, first-serve basis and the limit is 27 participants.”A woman doesn’t need to have any yoga experience to join this inspiring group of women,” Griesmaier said. “We welcome new faces each week and participants can start coming at any time.”For more information, contact Griesmaier at firstname.lastname@example.org or 815-788-2290.
