Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center and The Running Depot to host Northwest Trail Run

Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center and The Running Depot will host the five- and 10-mile Northwest Trail Run at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7 at Veteran Acres Park in Crystal Lake. A post-race party will give participants a chance to relive the fun while they enjoy great food and drinks in the Rotary Building. The park has entrances off Route 176 and Walkup Road. Parking will be available at the park.

Funds raised from the event will support the Centegra Health System Foundation and the Crystal Lake Park District Foundation. Donations to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry will also be accepted at packet pick-up locations and on the day of the race. The post-race party will feature coffee and hot chocolate from Conscious Cup in Crystal Lake, soup from Chef Peter Sexton of Sopraffina’s Marketcaffe in Chicago, pasta from Nick’s Pizza & Pub in Crystal Lake and bread and bagels from Panera in Crystal Lake.

“We’re excited to welcome runners and walkers to an event that will benefit important organizations in our community,” said Lisa Gasior, race director. “It’s a great way to exercise with friends and family and to show support for Centegra’s Foundation and the Crystal Lake Park District. Both foundations make a tremendous difference in the lives of people in greater McHenry County.”

The first 400 people to register will receive free backpacks. Early-bird registration goes until Nov. 1. Participants may register in person at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center – Crystal Lake, 200 Congress Parkway, or at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center – Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road, by mail or online at signmeup.com/69236.
