Woodstock-To aid in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, Centegra Health System, the largest employer and healthcare provider in McHenry County, has established The Centegra Health System Disaster Relief Fund through which Centegra employees may make donations for the benefit of those suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Centegra will match the first $20,000 of its employees’ contributions, dollar for dollar, with the potential to provide at least $40,000 in relief to the stricken area. The fund is being administered by American Community Bank and Trust.
“We have all been affected by the images of our fellow Americans suffering after the hurricane. As a healthcare provider, we are pulling together to offer as much assistance as we can,” Michael S. Eesley, Centegra President and CEO said.
Centegra is also working with the American Hospital Association, the Illinois Hospital Association and other national and state healthcare organizations as they determine ways in which we might offer other forms of assistance.
“We are encouraging individuals and businesses throughout the region to join us in our efforts by making personal contributions or by setting up funds within their own companies to further aid in the disaster relief,” Eesley added.
