Centegra CEO elected to Chicago area board of directors

MEesley

Michael S. Eesley, chief executive officer of Centegra Health System, has been elected to serve as chairman-elect of the Metropolitan Chicago Healthcare Council’s (MCHC) Board of Directors.

MCHC is a membership and service association comprised of more than 150 hospitals and health care organizations working together to improve the quality of health care services in the metropolitan Chicago area.

“Centegra has been a member of the MCHC for a number of years. We have reaped the benefits MCHC has provided to health care organizations throughout the eight-county Chicago area,” Eesley said. “Now, more than ever, MCHC’s specialized resources are extremely valuable. I’m honored this service organization has trusted me to lead its membership during this important transition into health care reform.”

MCHC is organized into specialized units that allow the council to respond to changes in the health care environment. For example, The Clinical Services department provides information and support for hospitals to operate effectively and keep up with evolving patient care, administrative, accreditation and regulatory standards. The committee helps hospitals address clinical, emergency preparedness and EMS, patient safety, ethics, environment of care, infection control and perioperative issues. The Group Purchasing Services (GPS) department promotes volume discount contracts with its suppliers, providing favorable pricing, terms and conditions to both acute and alternate health care facilities. Discounted contract pricing covers medical, surgical, office and housekeeping supplies; X-ray film and other disposables; food, lab and medical equipment; and pharmaceutical products.

MCHC committees and staff research, analyze, interpret, forecast and effectively communicate pertinent information to its members. MCHC’s board of directors acts as the policy-making body for the organization and assesses MCHC’s progress in addressing health care-related issues.

Eesley said, “I’m proud to be a member of this progressive organization that is helping improve the delivery of health care services in the Chicago region.”

Centegra Health System is committed to meeting the health care needs of the residents of greater McHenry County and to making services available in multiple and convenient locations, including hospitals in McHenry and Woodstock, Immediate and Physician Care Centers, Centegra Sage Cancer Center, Health Bridge Fitness Centers and the widely anticipated Centegra Hospital–Huntley slated for opening in 2016.
