In a formal ceremony, Centegra Health System executives along with representatives from the community, including, Illinois Senator Pamela Althoff, Huntley Mayor Charles Sass, McHenry County Queen Nicole Wright, Lake in the Hills Assistant Village Administrator Shannon Andrews, Algonquin Township Clerk Marc Munaretto, Lakewood Village President Julie Richardson and community youth representatives joined together in the symbolic ground breaking. The celebration marked the beginning of the 15-month construction project to build an immediate care facility center with diagnostic care services and multi-specialty physician offices along with a second Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center location.
The residents in southwestern McHenry County are one step closer to increased access to high-quality healthcare and wellness services. Today, Centegra Health System broke ground on its highly-anticipated healthcare campus at Algonquin and Haligus roads in Huntley.
“Today marks the beginning of a new era in improved access to high-quality healthcare in the region,” said Michael S. Eesley, Centegra Health System President and CEO. “This new campus will be dedicated to providing superior care to individuals and families living here in the fastest-growing region of greater McHenry County,” he added.
As part of the ceremony, members of the community donated time capsule memorabilia to mark the event. Time capsule items included an autographed baseball from the Lake in the Hills Athletic Association, a key to the City of Crystal Lake, multiple high school yearbooks, a Huntley Police officer badge and many other collector pieces. “We felt it was important to have the residents of this region represented at this historic event because this campus is truly their healthcare campus,” Jason Sciarro, Chief Operating Officer, Centegra Health System said. “We are developing this campus through a partnership between Centegra, the local municipalities and the people of the community to ensure our neighbors have access to comprehensive health and wellness services,” he added.
The anticipated opening for both the Centegra Health Center and Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center is fall 2008. Click here for more information on Centegra’s Healthcare Campus in southwestern McHenry County.
