Centegra Health System announces the topics of two physician speakers at the upcoming Centegra Health Strong Woman Event. Dr. David Davidson and Dr. Jing Liang will speak before the event’s keynote speaker, clinical psychologist Dr. Cynthia Green. The event will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 at the Holiday Inn in Crystal Lake, 800 South Route 31. The cost is $15. Register online at centegra.org/healthstrongevent to save $5.
Davidson, a cardiologist with Centegra Physician Care, will speak about “Getting to the Heart of It: Metabolic Syndrome.” Davidson is a specialist in cholesterol management who received a medical degree from Rush Medical College at Rush University Medical Center and completed a residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Liang, a physiatrist with Centegra Physician care, will speak about, “Understanding Back Pain Caused by Sacroiliac Joints.” Liang treats disorders and injuries of the neck, back, muscles and joints in a minimally invasive manner using techniques including injections of muscle, spine and joints, nerve blocks and medical acupuncture. She received a medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University-Syracuse and completed an internship with Atlantic Health System. Her residency and fellowship were completed at JFK Johnson Rehab Institute.
As the keynote speaker, Green will offer the top nine changes women can make to sharpen their memory performance and boost brain health. Green is one of America’s foremost memory fitness and brain health experts. She is the founder and president of Memory Arts, LLC, a company that provides memory fitness and brain health training to organizations, corporations and individuals. Green has appeared on Good Morning America, The Early Show, 20/20, Fox News, CNBC and National Public Radio’s “Talk of the Nation,” as well as in the pages of Time, Newsweek, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The London Standard, Good Housekeeping, Prevention and Parenting. Centegra Physician Care neurologist Dr. Timothy Upchurch also will be on hand to share information about brain health and neurology services available at Centegra. He will take part in the lunch and learn sessions and answer questions about neurological disorders and concussion management.
