Choose shades that block 100 percent of UV-A and UV-B rays.To protect your eyes, leave fireworks to the professionals. If you know people who purchase fireworks, keep your children away from them. Even sparklers burn at a temperature of 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit.Buy protective eye gear and wear it while you do yard work. People suffer serious and blinding eye injuries each year from debris that is kicked up by lawn mowers. If you plan to mow, make sure your children are indoors or at a safe distance from where you’re mowing. If you suffer an eye injury, visit an Immediate Care Center or an Emergency Department immediately for the treatment you need.
