Speaker: Alex Kim, Physician
If you have chronic sinus problems, you may be a candidate for an advanced new treatment for sinusitis. Alex Kim, MD, an otolaryngologist, says a new technique called balloon sinuplasty is minimally invasive and can be performed on an outpatient basis. This surgery takes about 30 minutes to complete, and most patients return to work the next day. Dr. Kim says if your sinus symptoms have not responded to traditional treatments such as antibiotics, steroid nasal sprays or decongestants, you may want to consider balloon sinuplasty.
