Centegra Health System recognizes May as Mental Health Month. This year’s Mental Health Month theme is “Doing More for One on Four,” reflecting the reality that one in four American adults live with diagnosable and treatable mental health conditions.Too many people suffer in silence and do not seek treatment for fear of being labeled or the belief that they are somehow to blame for their condition. Mental illnesses may be a result of a chemical imbalance in the brain or may be brought about by life events such as experiencing several changes at the same time or being a victim or witness to traumatic events such as violence or death. There are effective treatments available so that people can and do recover. If you are suffering or you know someone who is, call the Centegra Behavioral Health Services Central Intake Department at (800) 765.9999.
