This year, national experts recommend everyone older than six months receives a flu vaccination.
I’m Dr. Piush Patel, an internal medicine physician with Centegra Physician Care.
This year’s flu vaccine consists of one H1N1 strain from last year’s vaccine, plus two new strains. Experts say everyone who can should get an annual flu vaccine to expand protection to more people.
It is especially important that pregnant women, children younger than 5, people older than 65 and people with certain chronic medical conditions be vaccinated. Others include residents of long-term care facilities and people who live with or care for those who are at high risk, such as healthcare workers and the parents of young children.
Get your flu shot at Centegra Immediate Care for just $30. Walk-in hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information call 877-CENTEGRA.
