Adolescents can have dangerous heart problems with no symptoms. Do you know whether your teen is at risk for a serious cardiac event?Centegra Health System developed an innovative screening program to help identify significant heart problems in young teens. Teens ages 13 to 18 can receive echocardiogram screenings on Centegra’s Wellness on the Move mobile health unit. This test screens the part of the heart where the most significant heart problems can occur. This echocardiogram screening can help detect heart defects and abnormalities even when no symptoms are present. If a heart problem is found, a complete echocardiogram and other medical tests will then be prescribed.
