Ways to Volunteer

Helping Hands

Perhaps you are thinking of becoming a volunteer but are not sure if it is right for you. Do you like to meet new people or learn new skills? Do you have a special talent or experience that might benefit others? Maybe you are simply interested because you like to participate in an active life. Whatever your personal reasons, becoming a Centegra volunteer is rewarding and enjoyable.

Volunteers help in many ways

Guest Services

Volunteers greet patients and visitors as they enter the hospital, help them find their way, give visitor passes and deliver flowers and mail.

Crisis Center

Volunteers help the Associates in the Crisis Center update their important  department database.

Emergency Department

When patients enter the Emergency Department, they are often greeted by volunteers. Volunteers also assist staff with changing beds, filling supplies in patient rooms or talking with patients who are frightened or alone.

Gift Shop

Our Gift Shops are enjoyed by patients, family members and Associates. Volunteers in the Gift Shops wait on customers, ring up sales and  help keep the shop clean and tidy.

Newspaper Delivery

Each morning, patients at Centegra hospitals look forward to the morning newspaper delivered by volunteers.

Office Assistance

Many of the offices throughout Centegra benefit from volunteer help. Volunteers assist staff with various office activities such as answering phones, filing paperwork and sometimes working on the computer.

Physical Therapy

When inpatients need physical therapy, volunteers transport them by wheelchair from their room to the rehab gym. Volunteers  may also  plan and provide a game night for physical therapy patients.

Smile Program

Centegra volunteers help our patients stay entertained during their hospital stays by offering  magazines and books for their reading enjoyment. Volunteers also  teach patients how to use the Skylight system, our in-house movie channel.

Centegra Sage Cancer Center

Volunteers are often the first friendly faces that patients see when they enter the Centegra Sage Cancer Center for treatment. Volunteers also assist cancer center staff with various projects and tasks.

Transport Team

Volunteers are responsible for the safe, efficient and timely transport of patients and visitors throughout the hospital including during admissions and discharges.

Thrift Shop

When customers visit the Thrift Shop, volunteers assist  them with merchandise, use the cash register to ring up sales, sort donations and stock the store.
