Leadership in Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Centegra Health System has partnered with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) since 1975 to create the McHenry Western Lake County EMS System.Centegra Hospital  - McHenry is the resource hospital  that has administrative responsibilities for the pre-hospital patient care provided throughout our service area. Centegra Hospital – Woodstock and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital are associate hospitals. The Emergency Medical Services (EMS)  System is managed under the direction  of EMS Medical Director John Pacini, D.O.The role of the resource hospital is to provide medical direction for EMS patient care, initial and ongoing training, quality assurance and policy development in the oversight of  more than  800 EMS providers: EMT Basic; EMT Paramedic; Pre-Hospital RN; Emergency Communications RN; and Emergency Medical Dispatchers.The following agencies are participants in the McHenry Western Lake County EMS System:

EMS Service Providers:

Each year our EMS providers respond to more than 35,000 patient requests for Emergency Medical Services.

911 Dispatch Services:

Having a resource hospital brings a new level of protection and care to patients who are being rushed to the hospitals in the county for emergency care.
