SHAPEDOWN is an effective and developmentally sensitive program that teaches weight management to children and teens. SHAPEDOWN provides a comprehensive program that includes three health professionals: a registered dietitian, an exercise specialist, and a wellness coach. Unlike other weight loss programs for youth, SHAPEDOWN involves the family — a major ingredient for success. In SHAPEDOWN, children and teens learn how to eat, not how to diet. SHAPEDOWN stresses overall fitness and a more active lifestyle, which include endurance, flexibility and strength. A wide range of strategies are discussed to help parents and children take care of their physical and emotional health.
