What is Continuing Medical Education?
Continuing Medical Education (CME) refers to for-credit education available for medical professionals at Centegra Health System. Centegra Health System is accredited by the Illinois State Medical Society and the Illinois Nurses Association to sponsor continuing education for medical professionals, including physicians and nurses.
Why are CME Credits Important?
Physicians must stay abreast of advances in medical procedures, diagnostic testing, treatment modalities, billing practices and other timely topics. Because practicing quality medicine is important to us at Centegra, we offer:
- Four annual clinical symposiums
- Selected "hot topics" for additional CMEs
- UpToDate clinical information database available in physician lounges
- On-line access to E/M Documentation and Coding for Centegra Medical/Dental staff (10 CME total credit hours available). Sponsored by Peter Jensen, MD, Certified Coder with E/M University.
Continuing Medical Education provides:
- Conveniently scheduled dates and times to help you meet your CME annual requirements
- Current medical education in various specialties
- The intellectual opportunity to network with physician colleagues
- An opportunity for both Centegra and non-Centegra physicians to suggest topics and present information about their areas of expertise at Centegra CME events
