Centegra Health System has provided healthcare services for our neighbors in greater McHenry County since the founding of the first hospital in Woodstock in 1914. Throughout the years and with the support of the community, Centegra has continued to make available the most up-to-date facilities and treatment options. As the region has grown, so have the programs and services at Centegra Health System.
Each year Centegra Health System takes part in more than 100 community events throughout greater McHenry County to advance health education and wellness among our neighbors and friends. Meeting the healthcare needs of our community is one of our most important goals. Community events provide a unique way to reach that goal and also help our Associates better understand the future needs of those we serve.
Today Centegra Health System is ranked among an elite group of hospitals in the nation for the level of care it provides as a comprehensive community-based healthcare system. While rankings for service and quality are milestones of our progress, we continue to look for ways to improve the health of our community and provide an advanced level of care that people have come to expect.
The Centegra Health System Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Centegra Health System. Through the Foundation, staff and volunteers secure gifts to support the patient care, medical equipment and educational activities of Centegra Health System. The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that is governed by a board of directors.
Centegra has extended its services strategically in the immediate region. In response to community need, two facilities were opened in Crystal Lake and Huntley in 2008.
The Crystal Lake Medical Arts Building provides immediate care and family health services supported by the latest imaging equipment. Both immediate care centers offer convenient locations and hours of operation, especially for working parents. In Huntley, the new Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center has been received enthusiastically. In September 2008, Centegra also launched a Wellness on the Move initiative. Among other programs, the fully equipped van performs free health screenings such as diabetes and blood pressure on a once-month basis.
Wellness on the Move's inaugural visit was to the Salvation Army. It was the community's first opportunity to see how the mobile unit operates. Centegra has partnered with Robert Dorn and The Pointe in Crystal Lake to deliver healthcare services where the need is greatest. Wellness on the Move also has worked with McHenry County's Public Action to Deliver Shelter (P.A.D.S.), a nonprofit organization that provides shelter and other vital services to the homeless in Woodstock.
Centegra's commitment to the McHenry County area includes our Associates, physicians and volunteers. Together, our efforts reach across the communities we serve, helping us achieve the critical balance necessary for success.
