Cancer Registry

At Centegra Health System, we take pride in working with the State of Illinois and the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB) to compile and report information about each new patient treated at Centegra Health System. We track reportable cancers as well as other conditions such as benign central nervous system tumors and certain blood disorders. This information is entered into the Centegra Cancer Registry.

FAQs

How is the information collected?

The Centegra Cancer Registry collects information from the medical records of patients who have a reportable diagnosis. Lifetime follow-up information is then gathered annually from the following sources:

  • A Centegra facility, if the patient is admitted again or is seen in an outpatient department during the year
  • The patient's physician for patients not seen at a Centegra facility

Centegra will contact the patient, or designated family member, by letter or phone, if the patient has not been seen in the past year by a Centegra or affiliated physician.
