Hospital Auxiliaries
Centegra Health System is supported by the work of two hospital auxiliary groups that have worked for more than 60 years to provide funding and support for important hospital projects. Without the contributions made by these groups, it would be impossible to provide the number of high-quality technologies and services we make available today.
The Auxiliary of Centegra Hospital - Woodstock, established in 1946, and the Auxiliary of Centegra Hospital - McHenry, established in 1956, are comprised of volunteers who organize fundraising activities, manage resale and gift shops and provide creative support for our two medical centers.
The primary function of the Auxiliaries' volunteers is fundraising for the purchase of special items (from technology to works of art) and underwriting programs and services. Through their tireless efforts and goodwill, both Auxiliaries have furnished major spaces, bought surgical and emergency equipment and refurbished several critical care areas. Their generosity has become legendary throughout our hospitals.
Many of these volunteers also give their time by participating on committees or staffing special events. The variety of Auxiliary activities accommodates those women and men who are working full- or part-time or are retired but still want the satisfaction of being involved in a group that performs worthy community service.
In addition to supporting our hospitals, Centegra Auxiliaries also assist people who want to pursue education in healthcare fields. If you are interested in a health or science related field, please complete an Auxiliary Scholarship application. The application deadline is typically the end of May each year.
