Our Commitment to Breast Health

Centegra Gavers Breast Center and the team’s commitment to early detection and a full continuum of care for patients identified with abnormal screenings or other breast health concerns has earned Centegra’s Breast Program full accreditation from the American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). It is the first Center in McHenry County to earn this accreditation.

Centegra Gavers Breast Center is also designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology, earning accreditation in mammography, stereotactic biopsy and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy). The facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.  Read more

All of Centegra Health System’s Mammography locations have been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in mammography as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Support Groups

H.O.P.E

High On Positive Energy (HOPE) is a special support group for women living with breast cancer, which meets monthly on Tuesdays, 7:00 pm at Centegra Gavers Breast Center. To register or for more information about support groups, call 815-344-8000.

Pink Ribbon Yoga

Breast cancer survivors have an opportunity to connect in a wellness environment and participate in a special new Yoga class.  It’s a Yoga experience like no other that gives women a chance to gently exercise while gaining the benefit of stretching at their comfort level.  Taught by a certified yoga instructor and breast cancer survivor who understands what survivors may be experiencing.  This class meets Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30pm at Centegra Gavers Breast Center and Saturdays from 11:30am-12:30pm at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Crystal Lake.  Space is limited.  No registration required.
