Centegra Health System will host two free wellness lectures in April. Community members are welcome to hear physicians speak about kidney conditions and colon health. Space is limited. Register by calling 877-CENTEGRA (877-236-8347).
A normal kidney has many jobs including filtering blood, regulating minerals within the blood and producing hormones. If the kidney stops doing its job, one can be left with multiple health problems. Join Dr. Amit Arora, an independent nephrologist on the medical staff at Centegra Health System, as he discusses kidney conditions from kidney stones to renal failure. Learn the causes and symptoms associated with certain kidney conditions and the treatment options available. “Are Your Kidneys Wasting Time” will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Road.
Did you know that the daVinci robot could be used to treat colon conditions? Some colon problems can be improved through diet and exercise. However, when small growths, known as polyps, develop, there is a chance for cancerous cells to develop over time. Join Dr. Alexandra Roginsky, an independent surgeon on the medical staff of Centegra Health System, as she discusses how to keep a colon healthy, signs and symptoms of an unhealthy colon and available screenings for colon cancer. Roginsky also will discuss how she uses the daVinci robot to treat colon conditions such as colon cancer, diverticulitis and inflammatory bowel disease. “The Winding Road to Colon Health” will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Crystal Lake, 200 Congress Parkway.
