Centegra invites community to register for Northwest Trail Run Nov. 11

Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center invites runners to join the third annual Northwest Trail run Sunday, Nov. 11 at Veteran Acres Park in Crystal Lake. The 10-mile race will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the five-mile race will start at 8:45 a.m.

The event, which is presented by Crystal Lake Orthopedics, will benefit the Centegra Health System Foundation. The foundation helps build financial resources and grants funds for Centegra operations such as EKG transmitting devices, pre-natal monitors, professional education, state-of-the-art TomoTherapy cancer treatment, charity care, wellness programs, patient transport and much more.

Centegra Health System Foundation raises funds to support the goals of clinical excellence, superior service and promoting wellness for the greater McHenry County area. Through fundraising, special events and stewardship and by embracing donor passion for superior health care, the foundation works to provide the health system with the essential financial resources needed to support its strategic goals. Early-bird registration for the Northwest Trail run will be until Nov. 8. Participants may register in person at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Crystal Lake, 200 Congress Parkway, at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Huntley, 10450 Algonquin Rd. or online at signmeup.com/84292. The first 300 registrants will receive free T-shirts. Packet pickup will be from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center–Crystal Lake and from 7 to 8:15 a.m. the day of the race at Veteran Acres Park.

Volunteers are needed as course marshals, water station attendants and finish line workers. Awards will be given to all first-, second- and third-place winners in each age division. In addition, first-place gender finishers in each race will receive a pair of INOV8 trail shoes; second-place gender finishers will each receive a $50 gift certificate; and third-place gender finishers will each receive a $25 gift certificate. Race results will be posted on healthbridgefitness.com, drkomputing.com and cararuns.org. After the race, runners will enjoy food, fun and refreshments from local vendors at a post-race party in the Rotary Building at Veteran Acres.
