The fastest growing community in McHenry County will soon have increased access to high-quality healthcare close to home. After a year of preparation, Centegra’s Certificate of Need application to the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board to develop an outpatient healthcare campus with immediate care services on its property at Algonquin and Haligus Roads in Huntley was approved today at the board’s monthly meeting, which was held in Springfield.
“The development of a healthcare campus in the growing communities of Huntley/Lake in the Hills/Algonquin/Lakewood/southern Crystal Lake area is a vital component of our mission to improve the health of the people of McHenry County,” Michael S. Eesley, Centegra Health System President and CEO said. “We want to thank all the members of the community, as well as our patients and physicians, for their support during our CON process. We feel the addition of our healthcare campus in the southwestern area of McHenry County is the best, most efficient way to increase access to wellness-focused and convenient healthcare to this area,” he added.
The residents of the southwest portion of McHenry County currently do not have convenient access to an immediate care facility for urgent healthcare needs. Centegra’s newly approved healthcare campus would provide these services as well as many other needed services including, diagnostic imaging care, outpatient healthcare services and multi-specialty physician care to the community.
Centegra’s commitment to this area is also expediting the expansion of Haligus Road, which will help ease congestion among the existing roadway infrastructure. This commitment will further enhance access to quality healthcare in a convenient manner for area families.
As part of the healthcare campus, Centegra Health System has plans to build a second Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center on the property. “The addition of Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center to the area will provide residents with a full-service, medically-based fitness center,” Jason Sciarro, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, said. “Health Bridge will bring another important component of overall wellness to the community, which includes prevention and fitness,” he added.
Centegra plans to break ground on both Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center and the Centegra Healthcare Campus in July with an expected opening date in Fall of 2008.
