Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Centers encourage people to be healthier this fall by offering free lectures, membership and spa specials and swim lesson registration.

Take action against ovarian cancer

Women can get prepared by learning more about ovarian cancer from Dr. Leonard G. Hering, an obstetrician/gynecologist with Centegra Physician Care. He will speak about risks of ovarian cancer, symptoms and more. The program will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Crystal Lake. Tapping out foot problems

After years of supporting the body, feet may begin to cause pain even during everyday tasks. Join Dr. Matthew I. Samuelson, an independent orthopedic surgeon on the medical staff at Centegra Health System, as he provides information about foot pain and ways to ease and treat that pain. The program will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center-Crystal Lake. Call 877-CENTEGRA to register.

Register for swim lessons

Using games and educational drills, Centegra’s experienced instructors will teach children the skills they need to feel safe and confident around water. These seven-week classes meet once per week. The next session will be from Nov. 1 to Dec. 22. Registration begins Oct. 15 for members, Oct. 20 for community members who are currently enrolled and Oct. 22 is open registration. Spa specials offer pampering, relaxation

October is a month full of pampering and relaxation at The Bridge Spa. Basic manicures are $15, basic pedicures are $25, a 90-minute massage is $70 and mini facials are $34. Call (815) 444-2900 or stop by the concierge to book an appointment.
