Centegra Health System offers reduced-price sports physicals throughout the summer at four convenient Centegra Physician Care locations in Crystal Lake, Woodstock, Huntley and Spring Grove.Centegra will conduct reduced-price sports physicals by appointment during the Centegra Family Health Fest Saturday, July 16 at Centegra Physician Care in Huntley. Other activities at the health fest include Safe Kids Child ID, a rock climbing wall, Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center fitness challenge, bike helmet fitting (free to the first 400 children in line), Miss Illinois Hannah Smith and much more.Centegra Immediate Care centers regularly offer walk-in sports physicals year-round for $40. With the new academic year drawing near and sports physicals mandated by schools, Centegra Physician Care centers make it cost-effective for families by offering them for only $25 throughout the summer. The state of Illinois requires that all children and teens complete a sports physical before beginning a new competitive season.In addition to the sports physicals offered at Centegra Physician Care, echocardiogram (ECHO) heart screenings will be conducted on the Centegra Wellness on the Move mobile health unit for an additional $85. Pre-registration is required. To pre-register, call 877-CENTEGRA.”An ECHO heart screening is an ultrasound of the heart and can help detect heart defects and abnormalities, even when no symptoms are present. This screening can help prevent the sudden death of teen athletes,” said Dr. R. David Halstead, pediatric cardiologist with Centegra Physician Care-McHenry.ECHO heart screening requirements include completion of the pre-screening questionnaire, parental or guardian consent and presence of a parent or guardian at the screening.
